Abbeyleix Heritage welcomes all groups, large and small, to Heritage House, the Sexton’s House and the town of Abbeyleix.

We can give customised tours of our centre, concentrating on any historic periods or events required. We can also give tours of the historic planned estate town of Abbeyleix, showing the important buildings and telling stories of days gone by.

Digitisation Services

We now offer state of the art digitisation services here in Heritage House. Whether you want want photographs blown up for weddings or other family events, important videos converted to DVD or digital so you can still watch them in this time of ever changing technology, come in and talk to us.

We have a number of high quality scanners offering scanned resolutions of up to 1200ppi, this allows standard sized photographs to be blown up to poster size! We can also digitise other more difficult things such as books and objects using our copy stand and high resolution camera. We have a high quality video digitiser for converting your old home video tapes into DVD's or other digital media formats for watching on your computer, or putting them online, onto You Tube or Vimeo.

And please remember us if you have any historic photographs, documents or videos in your possession. With this new technology we can copy your treasured items and return them to your possession within a few hours. This allows us to expand our collection and allows others to discover the full history of our historic town.
